LYING DICE
Words by Andy and Beth Wheeler
Tune: "Lying Eyes"
7/06/99
City girls just seem to find out early
How to open doors with just some guile
A nice low roll and you won't have to worry
You can pick the lock and rob the house in style
But late at night reality gets lonely
I guess every pot of coffee has its price
It breaks her heart to think she's late for gaming
So she grabs her purse and her big bag of dice
So she tells him she must go out for the evening
To comfort an old friend who's feeling down
But he knows where she's going as she's leaving
She is headed for the gaming side of town
You can't hide your lying dice
Cause their noise breaks the disguise
He can hear them roll inside
There ain't no way to hide your lying dice
On the other side of town a group is waiting
With fiery plans to put an orc to steel
She drives on through the night anticipating
Cause it makes her feel the way she wants to feel
She rushes to the table, they roll together
She whispers that she only got a three
But she swears that soon she'll be dishing up some twenties
Cause she'll cheat as long as no one else can see
You can't hide your lying dice
And your smile is a thin disguise
Thought by now you'd realize
The Gamemaster can see your lying dice
She gets up and she pours a cup of coffee
She doesn't want her character to fry
She passes as they hand around the toffee
And sits around until it's time to die
She wonders how it ever got this crazy
She thinks about a thief she ran in school
Did she get tired, or did she just get lazy?
She only thought she meant to steal a jewel
My oh my, you sure know how to arrange things
You set it up so well, so carefully
Ain't it funny how your high roll didn't change things
We still managed to kill off your PC
You can't hide your lying dice
Can't escape the GM's eyes
Thought by now it's no surprise
There ain't no way to hide your lying dice
